This early?Roger Dubuis Hommage Chronograph (Ref. H37 560) grey?gold?watch is a limited edition timepiece. It is one of the earlier?watches created by the legendary watchmaker, after establishing his own brand in 1995. It has a dial with a pulsometer scale and the movement was regulated by none other than Roger Dubuis himself.?It is also chronometer-graded, with a certificate from Besan?on.
Roger Dubuis' career started in a?typical watchmaker's fashion - learning his craft at big Manufacture, like Patek Philippe. These formative years are clearly reflected in the style of this Hommage Chronograph?watch, inspired by classics such as the Patek Philippe's Ref. 130. It is also similar to the Ref. 5070, albeit in a more elegant, smaller size. The design is that of a two-register chronograph,?with a silver dial. The face is painted with blue graduations, a pulsometer scale, matching the steel blue chronograph hands perfectly. The other hands are silver, with the hour and minute hands taking the form of rather unusual?skeletonised?feuilles?shape.
The watch is a limited edition of 28 pieces and was delivered at the end of?1998. Its design is classic to early Roger Dubuis and the watch was regulated?by the watchmaker himself. The case is very distinct with its polished, stepped concave bezel and brushed concave lugs. The three-body structure gives the watch a larger presence on the wrist than the mid-size 37?mm case would normally suggest.?
