This 5905P* features an annual calendar complication with chronograph functions, a rarely seen combination for watches that has become an integral part of Patek Philippes modern annual calendar offerings.

The 5905P has a mixed heritage, as it draws upon two previous annual calendar pieces, the reference 5960 and the reference 5205 respectively, as demonstrated by its blended reference number. The watch borrows the sectors and elongated indexes found on the 5205, while retaining the overall dial layout and sub-seconds style of the 5960.

This 5905P has a deep navy sunburst dial, appearing in lighter hues when exposed to direct light, three calendar apertures displayed across the top of the dial, with day, date, and month placed from left to right, as is typical with Pateks annual calendars. The 60-second sub-dial found at 6 oclock also includes a discreet day/night indicator placed just above the 30 second marker.

The lume-filled, dauphine-shaped hands found on the 5905P are not derived from previous references, but are a new addition that is pleasingly modern. Further to this, as opposed to the round pushers found on previous generations of the annual calendar, this 5905P sees them replaced with flat pushers, allowing for a sleeker look.

The watch is powered by the calibre CH28-520, an automatic movement which can be viewed from the sapphire caseback. The movement also bears the Patek Philippe seal on the rotor, which guarantees the movements accuracy.

This Patek Philippe 5905P is in good condition overall. Superficial marks are found on the case and lugs consistent with relative wear over time. More specifically these surface marks are found surrounding the calendar pushers on the mid-case, likely as a result from operating the annual calendar function. The hallmarks and engravings on the caseback are crisp and well defined.
